So realizing that half of 2010 has come to an end, sorta freaking out that i have not really accomplished much yet. But at least things (at day-to-day pace) are going well for me. =)
I am more aware and conscious of my days cuz im not too ZOMBIED out living in a Japanese-company work life.
Being able to appreciate the simplest things and really appreciating the "quality" over "quantity".

Time sure is of the essence.

(already been a month since Leafcup's 4th Anniversary party. i mean, didnt i JUST do that post???)

Being self-aware and finding inner peace *peace of mind*

When I was taking a walk around Ochanomizu on my way to work the other day, I came across a used book sale at Maruzen.
I was lucky enough to run into some English-books and not to menion "bargain" books.

A little treat for myself, for my mind, and for my heart, this was good.

"Don't Sweat the Small Stuff....and it's All Small Stuff" - Richard Carlson.

Some of these pointers may be some guide to all of you as well because it is always hard living in a fast-paced world (especially a mad city like Tokyo) we tend to forget the simplest stuff, and also tend to lose ourselves in seeing the most necessary things.

My favorites:
*Spend a moment, Every day, thinking of Someone to Love
*Think of what you have instead of What you Want
*Get comfortable not Knowing
*Look for the Extraordinary in the Ordinary

The rainy season is heeerrrreeee and not loving it as much.....aaa stop the humidity pleeeeeezzzeee >_< (at least I get to wear more of my California-weather close due to the warmer days, woo hoo)

Reaching out and giving away.

Today i had a Beginners' Table at Tokyo Leafcup. I have been really worried and cautious about working the Beginners' Table because I feel like i am not too fit for it. I never would want to make the customers to feel uncomfortable or intimidated if it is their first time coming to leafcup. I know that they are sometimes just 'scared' about the idea of using English (so they try out at the beginners' table) It is like the first 'test-run' for them to get the feel of what leafcup is like.
I gotta say, its been just sooo darn amazing working here, leafcup surely has saved me from my fogged irritable days here in Japan. Made me come back to life and has made my days much happier, too. Working as an 'English teacher/lesson leader" persay was the last thing on my mind forever, but it seems like a good fit for me. Or its something I enjoy cuz i love leafcup. =) Plus, my main love in life is to be good to others - be able to give away and pass something forward - so this is one form of 'help'.
Okay, enough about the analyzing, but I had a GREAT TIME! the Table was a success. I got some good tips from Mie and Mike and Hikari about trying to make it as fun and comfortable for everyone, and my main goal was to speak super slow and clearly. I do hope everyone loves the American English....LOL. but i saw that every guest today helped me have a good convo, and we were laughing and giggling. I learned some funny japanese words that I never knew.

I feel a bit more confident about doing beginners' tables now. Hope I see you all again soon, or to anyone I have not had the chance to chat yet, see ya~
